Probably 90% of the weddings I photograph are my former High School Seniors who get engaged. I can’t begin to express what an honor this is for me. The only problem is that I bawl like a baby every single time. Especially when they’re so darn sweet on each other like Jayden and Charlie. Their whole day was magical from start to finish. The Red Rock Country Club was a beautiful location for the event, and every detail was managed with perfection. All of the florals, provided by Layers of Lovely, were gorgeous pale pink and white peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus, and the bouquet was an absolute dream!
Jayden’s cousins, her best friend, and her new sister in law, were her bridesmaids, and they spent the better half of the morning helping each other get ready for the big event. There were so many beautiful, emotional moments throughout the day, some favorites being when the groom’s momma presented the bride with an heirloom gift, and the tender moments of the bride’s own momma helping her get ready.
Capturing the ceremony always involves tears for me, especially when the groom has a tearful and beautiful reaction to his bride. And needless to say, Charlie didn’t disappoint. That man sure loves his woman. The ceremony took place outdoors against the backdrop of the lovely golf course, and was flawlessly officiated by Reverend Kymberli.
Right after the ceremony, guests were taken back inside for a cocktail and h’ordeuvres hour while we photographed the gorgeous bridal party and then the bride and groom for their first portraits as official husband and wife. (See their post wedding bridal session here.) These two have an awesome big family now, and I love how everyone came together with hugs and love as if they were related by blood and not marriage.
The reception brought more tears in the form of the first dance, father daughter dance, and a beautiful speech from the bride’s dad. There were lots of laughs provoked by the best man speech, and the shoe game, and of coarse, all the single ladies and guys diving for the bouquet and garter tosses. Dinner was all out and delicious and followed by a beautiful and tasty cake from Las Vegas Custom Cakes.
Now, I go to some weddings where the dance floor is hardly used, but at this wedding the dance floor was crowed from corner to corner with guests of all ages getting down. (I have to mention that the father of the bride, and mother of the groom can DANCE!) It was so much fun to watch everyone having such a great time!
Jayden and Charlie, thank you so very much for asking me to capture your day. All the details might have been beautiful, but it’s the love that you two have that made it absolutely perfect! I wish you a lifetime together of happiness and love!
